After weeks of pushing the release date, fans can finally enjoy Kanye West’s new album “Donda.” While Wet has said and done to what some may say…questionable things, it is hard to deny that the man can make some damn good music.

Donda includes features from other mainstream artists such as Jay-Z, Vory and The Weeknd. The album follows the trend from his last album by having a gospel influence while still holding on to the traditional Kanye sound.

While I am COMPLETELY unqualified to give an official review; I can appreciate good music. I think that this album is one of West’s better releases within the past five years. The album is dedicated to his mother, Donda West, who passed away in 2007. You can tell by the lyrics (and constant push of his release date) that he put a lot of time and emotion into telling a story.

West’s way of putting his struggles and emotions into his music is appreciated and for many listeners, relatable. This is something you can’t always find in music.

After listening to the album all the way through (multiple times may I add) my official unofficial rating for “Donda,” would be an 8.5/10. If you’re a fan of rap music, I would definitely recommend this album. Happy listening!
